Scale Models / Sculptures Print E-mail

From intricate, scale replicas of large buildings to miniature sports figure collectibles and artistic, larger-than-life sculptures, museum- and exhibition-quality models are frequently molded from durable polyurethanes.  The cured materials reproduce fine detail and maintain outstanding dimensional accuracy and stability over time.

Innovative Polymers Advanced Shore D Polyurethanes have been preferred by modelmakers for many years.  The IE-3000 family of products combines ease of handling with outstanding durability to withstand handling and shipping without breakage.  In addition to translucent, amber and white-colored systems, the IE-3000 polymer series includes a buffable, water clear product.

Advanced Shore D Polyurethanes

Innovative Polymers Shore 70-80D hardness polyurethanes are formulated for hand-batch mixing and pouring, mass casting and rotational molding.  The polyurethanes feature:

  • Low viscosity
  • Easy to handle 1:1 mix ratio by volume
  • Broad range of gel times and demold times to meet the requirements of a variety of projects
  • Tensile strength up to 10,500 psi
  • Flexural modulus properties up to 420,000 psi

IE-3000 series polyurethanes are easy to paint or pigment.  In addition, Innovative Polymers chemists are experienced in color matching the materials to virtually any customer requirement.
