Innovative Polymers manufactures two unique lines of high performance polyurethanes: TP-4000 series (Shore D) and the HP-1000A series (Shore A).

Based on advanced crosslinked technologies, the TP-4000 series combines ultra-high impact strengths and high heat deflection temperatures with good flexural properties. The durable materials simulate polypropylene, ABS, polycarbonate and TPO thermoplastics and are ideal for molding functional prototypes, initial parts and for short-run production. Typical applications include automotive components as well as parts for the military and sports/recreation industries.

TP-4000 family polyurethanes are Shore D hardness products with gel times ranging from two to 12 minutes. All but one of the materials is amber colored; TP-4040 is black.

In February 2010, Innovative Polymers Inc. introduced the HP-1000A series, formulated for producing durable parts with extremely high elongation (356 – 800%) and tear strengths (130 – 325 pli). The Shore A hardness elastomers exhibit outstanding resistance to gouging, cutting and abrasion as well as chemical and solvent exposure. The polyester polyol-based materials are ideal for casting amusement/ theme park ride components, oil/gas and mining equipment, and parts for the paper, printing and welding industries.

The High Performance Shore A polyurethanes are pourable at room temperature for easy processing via hand-batch or meter-mixing. The HP-1000A series polyurethanes are readily processed at temperatures between 77ºF and 130ºF and cure at temperatures below 150ºF. To attain maximum physical performance properties, the polyurethanes should be post-cured for 12 hours at 150ºF. Like all Innovative Polymers products, the new polyurethanes contain neither mercury nor MOCA.
